UPBEAT: HANDPAN WORKSHOPS TO EXPLORE AND CONNECT

Sundays, 7pm UK time
pay what you can
£5-£15

Where?

We meet using the Zoom Meeting application, if you don’t have zoom already you’ll need to download it. I can help you with any questions.

What?

Each week, I guide you through warmups and exercises to help build your repertoire and toolkit for your own compositions. We have lots of creative time to explore new ideas, utilising different mediums such as images, words, beats, stories etc. When practicing drills, we play along to the same beats (which can be found here for free on my website) so we can have the feeling of playing "together".

After the main content of the workshop is finished, we will have time to hang out, share our experiences, connect and grow.

How?

Every participant will be muted during the main portion of the session, meaning no matter which scale you have or what level your playing ability is, everyone can play together at the same time. It is up to you to interpret my instructions however you like! If you feel comfortable, there will also be space to share your ideas and music with the rest of the group.

When?

Three Sundays a month at 7pm UK time. That’s 11am west coast America.

If the demand allows, I will split the workshops into two separate sessions: beginners & advanced.

This session is drop-in style, so you don't have to commit to every week. Though it would be great to see you there as often as you can make it!

How Much?

£5-£15+

(PayPal will change the currency for you)

I recognise that many of us are artists and musicians who have been badly affected financially by the current crisis, so I offer this workshop on a sliding scale. Please pay what you can. If you are struggling and wish to join us, contact me and we can work something out.

I’ve created this workshop in order to find a way for us all to connect and play together, even from afar! I also wanted to offer the space for us to stay after the workshop content has finished, and connect with each other in smaller groups. There’ll be time to meet new friends, catch up with old ones, ask for advice and tips, offer feedback, or have some extra practice time.

The main goal of this workshop is to simply have fun. But we will be learning new things and honing our skills along the way.

I hope you can join me!
